FUREVER PAINTING KITS
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Who should do a Furever Painting?
A: The better question is, "Who shouldn't?" If you or anyone you know has a pet, then they can do a Furever Painting.
Q: How will I know how to make a painting with my pet?
A: Everything you need will be included in the box with written instructions as well as a QR code you can scan with your phone to see a video with detailed instructions and information. Don't focus too much on the way you administer the paint, your pet is the one who does all the work.
Q: What colors should I choose? How do I choose the colors?
A: There are an infinite amount of color combinations to choose from. Perhaps choose the colors of your favorite sports team, your alma mater or to match the decor colors in your home. Take a look at some of the Furever Paintings other pets have done to get a feel for what goes well together. Sometimes it's nice to just choose colors that totally "pop" and standout, even if you don’t think they go together.
Q: How many different colors should I use?
A: You'll need to choose at least 3 colors from the drop-down menus but you can add additional colors for an additional fee. I've noticed that a little bit of white or black on any Furever Painting adds a nice touch because it complements the black frame and/or the white mat. Use very dark colors (black, navy blue, dark purple) sparingly as they tend to overtake the other colors.
Q: My dog is allergic to peanut butter, what can I use instead?
A: Use anything that will stick and that they'll eat/lick. There are plenty of alternatives shown in the instructions, all the way from almond butter, sweet potatoes and honey to molasses. Whatever you choose to use, make sure it doesn't contain Xylitol as it is known to be deadly to animals even in small amounts. The best results will always come from using peanut butter though.
Q: What kind of paint does Furever Paintings use?
A: We use intermixable, non-toxic, water based acrylic paint that permanently adheres to both canvas and wood. However, it can be washed off hands and craft areas using soap and water. It may stain some surfaces so don't put it on your carpet or very porous surfaces, because yes, it might stain. Not to worry, your pet isn't harmed in any way because they don't actually eat or lick the paint. Canvases are acid-free, 100% cotton and are triple primed.
Q: Can my cat do a painting?
A: Absolutely! Every pet can make a Furever Painting. Dogs, cats, cows, horses, goats and even a squirrel have made them thus far. However, I don't see any reason why a ferret, hamster, pig or any other animal couldn't do it. I'd love to see a painting from every species!! You can request 4x6 canvases (best for small pets i.e., Chihuahua, Cats, Ferrets, Guinea Pigs etc.) and 8x10 canvases (best for larger animals i.e., Horses, Cows, Goats etc.) at no additional charge. Please keep in mind the size and what does/doesn't fit in a frame with a mat.
